Mai 2004 trafen sich ca. 20 Aktivisten des Chaos Computer Clubs und des FoeBuD vor dem Hilton Hotel in Düsseldorf zur Kundgebung gegen die unkontrollierte Einführung von RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). Denn im Hilton Hotel veranstaltete das Handelsblatt eine Fachtagung zum Thema RFID. Die Demonstranten wollten die Teilnehmer der Tagung auf die Problematik der RFID-Chips aufmerksam machen. So befürchten die Datenschützer den gläsernen Kunden und Verletzungen der Privatsphäre durch unkontrolliertes und verstecktes Datensammeln.“
